BARNEY IN PERSPECTIVE

8/9/07:  MAJOR UPDATE . . . THE RACE VENUES ARE NOW CHANGED BACK TO THE BAY SIDE --  DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM WHERE IT WAS SCHEDULE TO TAKE PLACE ON THE OCEAN SIDE. . .
                           New course maps ARE POSTED.
  Revised Distances:  1/4 Mile BAY Swim - 12 Mile Bike (two loops, 6 miles each) - 3 Mile final run (will be a double loop of the duathlon's first run.  Duathlete's first run will be 1.50 miles.
             The triathlon & duathlon will now both start at 7:00 a.m. 
Again:  Event Time Line Page and Course Maps ARE REVISED & POSTED.
  
THE EVENT IS NOW CLOSED OUT -- THANK YOU EVERYONE!
             PLEASE BE ADVISED - - TO MAKE SURE ALL RUNS SMOOTHLY THE FIRST YEAR, THE ENTRANT'S COUNT WILL BE REDUCED TO 450 INSTEAD OF 550. AS OF 8/27 THERE ARE  25  RACE SLOTS REMAINING.

  • Set up will be on Sat. Sept. 22.  Because of the high cyclone fencing
    ( 6 feet high locked fencing) we are  permitting voluntary bike inspections &  racking on Sat. Sept. 22.

 No boardwalk with hundreds of rides, or arcades.  There is a small amusement section, but plenty of restaurants, clubs, shops, unique stores  for adults and kids alike. 

Motels will be at the reduced rate after the labor day holiday.  Rooms book quickly, do not wait to rent lodging for the week-end.  Closest motels:
are located in Long Beach Twp. & Beach Haven.
